COMMUNITY FUND BOARD

The fund is administered through a group of non-executive Members who live, work and have an active presence in each of the communities of Largs, Fairlie and Cumbrae.  The role of the board is to receive and evaluate funding applications, which must meet the set criteria, distribute the funds and to monitor the progress of each successful applicant.

Drew Cochrane - Administrator

Drew is former editor of the Largs & Millport News and was chairman of the Society of Editors in Scotland.  He was the first chair of the Kelburn Windfarm Trust and took over as administrator two years ago.  Drew is a Largs Community Councillor and active in local theatre and sports organisations.

David Boyle - Treasurer

Owner of the Halliday Pharmacy in Largs, David attended Largs Academy and Strathclyde University where he graduated as a Pharmacist in 1999. He first worked at Boots St Enoch Centre Glasgow for 4 years before opening Halliday Pharmacy in 2004. David is married with one child and lives in Largs.

Alan Hill - Director

Alan was educated at Largs Academy and Glasgow University where he obtained a Law Degree. He has worked in several law firms in Ayrshire and is now a Partner in local firm, Robert F Duff & Co who have offices in Largs and Millport. Alan is one of the longest serving Councillors on North Ayrshire Council and was first elected in 1999. He is actively involved in a large number of local groups throughout the North Coast. Alan is married to Julie and lives in Fairlie with their four children.

Alex Gallagher - Director

Alex has lived in North Ayrshire for 35 years. He worked in the computer industry and as a self-employed business consultant. He has been a Local Councillor for five years. In addition to his Council duties he is Chair of the Largs Viking Festival and a Trustee of Haylie House. He is the former Chair of Largs Academy and Largs Community Council.

Alistair Green - Chairman

Alistair is the Managing Partner of leading North Ayrshire Law firm Taylor and Henderson who have offices in Largs, West Kilbride, Saltcoats Irvine and Kilwinning. He is also a director of Glasgow Solicitors Property Centre (GSPC). Alistair lives in Fairlie and is a member of Fairlie Community Council. Alistair's legal expertise is in residential and commercial conveyancing, estate agency, financial services, business law, wills and estates.

Elisabethe Marshall - Director

Elizabethe has lived in Largs for the past 35 years. A registered Nurse and Midwife, she was a Conservative Member of North Ayrshire Council for the past 12 years. She retired in 2012. Married with three children and two grandchildren, Elizabethe is a member of St John's Church in Largs, the Gideon Society and Scripture Union.

Joan Rae - Director

Joan is the chairman of the Largs Community Council and has been an active member of the Largs and North Ayrshire community for many years. Born and lived in Largs all her life she is a former pupil of Largs Academy. With her husband, Bobby Rae, the immediate past Provost of North Ayrshire, Joan has 1 daughter and 2 grandchildren. She is an Elder of the Church, and a long standing member of The Largs Players, member of the WRVS and Chair of the Largs Heritage Centre.

Pat Nicol - Director

Pat is a former primary school Deputy Headteacher who has worked in both Ayrshire and Inverclyde districts. Over the years, she has been involved in many community associations and church groups. Pat is a former president of Largs Players and has performed in plays and musicals with various theatre groups over the past forty years. Among various interests she is chairperson of Largs Flower Club, and is currently involved in the Adopt a Bed initiatives in Douglas Park and Largs Railway Station.

Rev. Graham McWilliams - Director

Graham is the parish minister of St Columba's, Largs and Fairlie Parish Church and Interim Moderator for the local area. He is involved in various organisations in local communities.
